This Week in Lego: Hello Kitty Joins the Brick Line and Avengers: Doomsday Sets Land (9 October 2026)

Lego has announced a long-term partnership with Sanrio, and the first Hello Kitty and Friends sets are due in 2027. It was the biggest announcement of a week that also brought the Avengers: Doomsday range to shelves and a first look at Batman’s January 2027 wave. Here is what matters to adult builders.

Lego and Sanrio announce a multi-year partnership

On 6 October, the Lego Group and Sanrio announced that Hello Kitty and Friends will become Lego sets for the first time, with a “wide range” of products planned for 2027. Both companies describe it as a multi-year partnership. Lego’s teaser video shows Hello Kitty, Kuromi, My Melody, Pompompurin and Cinnamoroll emerging from the brand’s yellow paper bag.

There are no set names, numbers, piece counts or prices yet. Jay’s Brick Blog notes that a Sanrio theme page now shows a calendar, with clues pointing to reveals on 14, 16 and 21 October and on Halloween. Our take: a multi-year deal suggests Lego sees this as more than a single wave. Whether it lands as display sets for adults or something broader will decide how much of it reaches our shelves.

Why it matters: the Tower is the largest of the four and the obvious display piece, while the BrickHeadz set is the cheapest way into the range.

Batman 2027 sets revealed

Three sets from the January 2027 wave were confirmed on 5 October. Batman Returns Batmobile & Duck (67008) is 672 pieces at $59.99, and Arkham Batman Batmobile (67009) is 317 pieces at $29.99. The Joker Wall Art Comic Cover (67012) is 1,849 pieces at $169.99 and open for pre-order. UK prices have not been confirmed.

Why it matters: the Batmobile that split open in the August set is clearly becoming a recurring feature of the theme.

Last chance for the Executor gift

If you bought or plan to buy the Executor Super Star Destroyer (75457, £649.99 / $799.99), the free Darth Vader’s Lightsaber (40897) is available only until 10 October while stocks last. We covered the set’s arrival in last week’s roundup, and it is worth checking the gift before you order.
