Main Story

Icons Venetian Neighbourhood Brings Canals and a Playable Piano

Lego revealed set 11388 Venetian Neighbourhood on 15 October. It is a 5,682-piece Icons build with 17 minifigures, priced at £449.99, $549.99 or €499.99. According to StoneWars, Insiders get a three-day early window from 1 November, with the set opening to all customers on 4 November.

The headline feature is a 3D-printed piano. Turning the flower pot on top makes it play notes, and Brick Fanatics notes it is only the second 3D-printed element in a widely available set, after the tiny blue train in 10361 Holiday Express Train. The street scene packs in gondoliers, carnival-goers and tourists, and the water is built a little differently from the usual canal approach.

Our take: This is the kind of set that rewards patient, display-minded builders. If you already work with canals and waterfront scenes in a Lego city, the Venetian Neighbourhood gives you a dense, ready-made reference. It also pairs naturally with the techniques in our guide to row houses and brownstones.

Secondary Stories

My Neighbor Totoro 1988 Reaches 10,000 Supporters

FullMetalBricks’ 2,341-piece My Neighbor Totoro 1988 qualified on 15 October, according to Brick Fanatics. It is the first project to cross 10K in the third 2026 review, which currently lists 32 projects. Six more entries joined the review by 10 October, including The Incredibles Omnidroid Showdown, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Brick Makeup and a Scooby-Doo haunted-house build, per The Brick Fan.

Why it matters: Qualifying only gets a project into review, but a Ghibli subject with strong supporter momentum is one to watch. For context on how earlier milestones played out, see our September Ideas milestones roundup.

Retiring X-Mansion Sells Out as Prices Climb

Set 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion is now sold out in the US. Brick Fanatics reports two copies sold on eBay for $480 and $500, against a $329.99 retail price, with listings now running from $470 to $800. The same report says Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (21360) has sold out permanently in the UK, with eBay prices above £200.

Why it matters: Hundreds of sets are due to leave shelves by 31 December. Our look at the biggest retiring wave of the year is a useful checklist if anything on your wishlist is still available.

November Gets Crowded

Lego’s November slate includes 21065 Sagrada Família (12,060 pieces, £649.99 / $799.99) on 1 November, plus 11390 Shenron & Goku at £129.99 / $179.99 in Insiders early access and 10371 Cozy Plants at £17.99 / $22.99, according to Jay’s Brick Blog. Insiders Weekend is 21 to 22 November, and Black Friday starts 27 November.

Why it matters: With the Venetian Neighbourhood landing the same week as Sagrada Família, November is a month for choosing carefully.

Also This Week

  • Venetian Water Taxi GWP: Gift-with-purchase set 40898 (322 pieces, two minifigures) has been revealed, but the spend threshold and start date are still to be announced.
  • BrickLink Designer Program: Brick Fanatics reports a long wait ahead for the winners of the programme, so do not expect quick release dates.
  • Brick Deals: Brick Fanatics has launched a UK-only marketplace for buying and selling Lego sets with free listings. It is run by a news site rather than by Lego, so treat it as a third-party option.

Over to You

The Venetian Neighbourhood, Totoro and a vanishing X-Mansion made this a week that pulled adult builders in three directions at once. Which of these has you reaching for your wallet? Let us know in the comments, and keep an eye out next week for the Water Taxi gift-with-purchase details and the Insiders early-access dates for the Venetian Neighbourhood.
